Editing Day

Today was our editing day that was designated to us by our teacher meaning that we had the whole day off timetable with an aim of finishing the editing for our video. We hoped that we could at least have a rough cut finished by the end of the day. We succeded in putting together a rough cut and feel that the editing day was hugely beneficial, however, wedont not believe within our group that the video is finished and believe we still need to keep working on it to ensure that it looks as professional as possible.

Narrative Update

Our original narrative we had in place was disliked by a large amount of our target audience after we asked them to comment on our current progress.We decided we will now create a narrative around the idea of a "behind the scenes/setting up"this is seen in a many Rock videos such as, Bon Jovi Livin' On A Prayer and Def Leppard Pour Some Sugar On Me. We have a lots of left over footage from MTV that as a group we feel will work when creating our new narrative. We believe that by doing this we will be able to appeal to our audience more our original idea and gain more positive feedback.

Artists Permission Update

After we decided to change our chosen Genre from Dubstep to Rock changing Artist from Modestep to Raided By Waves we had to ask permission from the band to use both their song and whether they could perform in our video. Harry from our group contacted the lead singer of the band James on Facebook and pitched our ideas to him, James replied saying that the band were very interested the band would be very interested In performing for us. Below show permission from the leader of the band Janmes on our facebook conversation. James was interested in performing a song called 'Every Second', however, after mentioning our need for narrative we all desided that 'Secret Sin' would be the best choice due to the meaning behind the song as it would be possible to create a narrative for it. After we explained our reasons the band were happy to perform 'Secret Sin'.  

Chosen Genre Update

Due to the Dubstep idea falling through as Modestep were unable to perform for us we looked and found another artist which is in the rock genre. We believe that rock will be an easier genre to recreate and it will help us to achieve a greater level of success with our video.

Chosen Artist Update

Due to Research we decided that Dubstep would be a hard genre to portray in a music video both for performance and narrative. As we had gained permission to use an MTV Studio we agreed as a group that a rock band would be perfect for the set up of a music studio as rock bands are known for their performances. We discovered through friends that there was a rock band nearby in Harlow that would most probably be interested so we approached them and they agreed to be our chosen artist. The band is named 'Raided By Waves'.

Media Group Update

For our media groups there have been a few changes since last year. Jack Carrington (http://jackcarringtona2.blogspot.co.uk) has left the group and both me (http://joshduttonmedia.blogspot.co.uk) and Charlie Wick (http://charliesa2mediaa.blogspot.co.uk) have now joined. Harry Byford (http://harrygeorgebyforda2media.blogspot.co.uk/) and Will Tickle's (http://willticklemedia.blogspot.co.uk/) group.
